The third lecture was given by Dr Hazrati. Dr Hazrati gives a lecture on graphic and multimedia. First of all, there different forms of media. The forms are text, graphic or image, audio, video, animation and interactive content. Multimedia is content that uses a combination of different forms of media as mentioned. Dr Hazrati explains to us clearly and informatively about each form of the media, from text to interactive content. She showed us a few examples for each form. The graphic is one of the forms in multimedia. There are three types of graphic. They are illustration, realistic and symbolism. Other than that, we were provided with information on the principles of design. The principles are; contrast, repetition, alignment and proximity.
The day’s topic gives me a clearer vision of the elements to create a good graphic or multimedia. It also opens my mind and gives me an idea on how to make teaching and learning more fun but at the same time can provide clear information on the topic. For example, interactive learning. Interactivity allows interaction between informative programs and the audience. The audience here is referring to students. Other than that, the elements and principles of design provide me with information on how to come up with a good design. All the elements come together will help create a more effective design for our multimedia. Who knows that even the size of the font can help create meaning in the way we use it for.
I can conclude that this topic is helping us to get a hang of creating a meaningful learning and teaching experience by making use of the existing technology and innovation. It gives us an idea and a first step on how to create a design to help make the use of innovation in education becomes more effective.
